Moving Tips
Residential Moving Tips
1. Flammables - All items that
are flammable or explosive must be transported by the customer and cannot
be placed in the moving van. e.g. Aerosol
Cans, Propane Tanks, Thinners, Gasoline, etc.
2.
Engines - Gasoline Engines
must be emptied.
3. Garden hoses - They should be drained and the ends connected
together. Place hoses in an empty trash can to avoid leakage.
4. Dressers -
Chest of Drawers and dressers can be moved with the drawers full. Any
items that could spill, break, or move around should be removed (e.g.
perfume, cologne, jewelry, coins, pens, pencils, paper clips, glass
items).
5. Outdoor
Items made of concrete, cement, or plaster can be moved. However, changes
in weather can cause external and internal cracks that can cause breaks
and/or crumbling. Therefore, we
cannot accept responsibility for such occurrences.
6. Guns and/or Ammunition
cannot be transported. Please contact us for information how to transport/ship
these items.
7. Refrigerators and Freezers should be emptied prior to the
scheduled time of your move.
8. Computers and electronic equipment should
be disconnected and ready to move prior to loading. Small electronic
components should
be boxed.
9. Items made of particle board or pressboard can be moved however
we do not accept responsibility for them.
Commercial Moving Tips
1. Labeling - Everything should be labeled, no matter how small or
inconsequential.
2. Tagging - , Floor mats, white boards, trash
cans, typewriters, [individual] computer components (including cables)
and peripherals should all individually tagged. Please tag Items
in locations that are in easily viewed by your relocation crew and staff.
Examples:
a) Desks,
tables, credenzas should be labeled on the top of the work surface.
b) Bookcases should be labeled on the top.
c) Storage/File Cabinets should be labeled on the top.
d) Boxes should be labeled on the sides (avoid top or bottom).
3. Completely empty the contents of the following of desks, table
drawers, credenzas, shelves, storage/file cabinets and bookcases.
NOTE: Please do not empty vertical file cabinets
(they will be moved full).
4. All mechanical and electrical
disconnections must be made prior to the time of move.
5. Personnel - It is advised to not have a large amount of extra
personnel (not contributing to the relocation) at your facilities during
the schedule time of the move to avoid crowding.
6. Leased Equipment - Please remove toner from all printers and photocopiers.
You should also notify all service or lease agents that you are
moving the photocopier
or other equipment that is under contract in advance of your scheduled
